In 2022 the terrible situation in Ukraine meant that myself and a few others created a charity to help people in the war torn country. We needed to raise funds for our charity Help Ukraine Telford. As the chairperson of the charity I approached Will at Hoo Zoo to see if he would help us out. The venue was great for us and we were grateful to the staff and customers who helped us with donations. It always humbles me when people are so giving. I would recommend Hoo Zoo as a venue for anyone looking for somewhere different to hold any functions. It’s beautifully kept, the staff are lovely and the added bonus of the animals is fantastic. I love bringing my family to visit and I hope that we will visit again soon.
We visited Hoo Zoo while on holiday and had an amazing time. The meerkat and lemur feeding experience was absolutely brilliant — so much more interactive than others we’ve done elsewhere. Natalie, the keeper, was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals, which made the whole experience even better. We also fed the deer, which was another lovely highlight. The entire zoo was fab from start to finish, and we’d definitely recommend a visit to anyone looking for a fun, hands‑on day out.
My son had the best birthday party at Hoo Zoo and Emma has been fantastic throughout the whole experience end to end! She really put me at ease as my child is Autistic and really made the rest of his friends feel comfortable. I cant thank Emma enough on how she really engaged with the party bringing the animals out. I would come here again for another party the best experience iv ever had as a SEN mum. I will also be telling my son school to come on a trip here on how inclusive it is for children with disabilities. Thank you so much!
I got my daughter the junior zoo keeper experience for her birthday and we had a really good time! Word of warning wear wellies and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy! Sarah took us around she was very knowledgeable and was great at answering any questions. We fed the lemurs which were super cute! We went to see the meerkats who ate very cute and cheeky climbing all over us, we also got to meet dave the snake, lizard and cuddle the very cute skunk. We had a great time despite the wet and mud. Thank you for fab time
Sarag was there for the deer and talk today! We came along and nobody was there we got to feed them solo and learn all about the whole herd! She had pictures of them when you get and in the summer and told us nae and anything else we could think of! She also spoke about the other animals like all the guinea pigs being all called after Greggs items and the first animal she got to name the Deer and showed us photos and again personal stories based from her love and passion for the animals! Outstanding!!
We did the carnivore combo with Melissa as our guide: it was great! There were four families, we were split into two groups so we didn't feel at all rushed and had lots of time with the animals. It was a super experience for children and adults alike. Melissa was great: she answered all of the (many) questions, and was so enthusiastic. Despite the utterly horrific weather, we had a great time. And even seeing the dinosaurs for the 4th time, they're still very cool.
Wow what a fab Christmas day out at Hoo Zoo - we went the year before last and saw a fabulous Santa. This year after we had booked they released a post showing a very different Santa and I was a bit worried. Well the relief we had when the wonderful Santa we had seen before was there! He thought he remembered us as a big group as well and was so amazing with the kids and adults alike. All of the elves were fab and explained everything really well to the children. They enjoyed sand art and a decoration to take home before finding the big man himself! The little model train was loved by all the children as were their bear gifts. After we went to dance with Mrs Claus and the elf and they were so great with all the children. Special mention to Rich on the photos as we feel he really should wear his elf gear all year and he was super lovely and friendly and we had a nice chat with him! The zoo itself is great and the kids loved playing the dinosaurs are great and then play area loved by all. We ordered some chips to have with our picnic and some coffees and they were good value and enjoyed by all! Thank you for another festive trip hop zoo!
My boyfriend and I went to Hoo Zoo to do the crazy cat breakfast and carnivore combo experiences to celebrate his birthday. The keeper Charlotte who led them both was delightful, she was friendly, talkative and very knowledgeable about the animals! She answered questions to the best of her ability and just made the experiences feel really special! These experiences included admission to the rest of the zoo so we spent the day making the most of the feedings and talks happening around! We fed wallabies, goats and sheep! We enjoyed the T-Rex Tea Room which had such a wide variety of food and drinks. I had a jacket potato and my boyfriend had a chilli hot dog, both were delicious and piping hot! The hot chocolates were yummy, as were the ice-creams, we loved that you could choose your own toppings. Would highly recommend the experiences to anyone who wants to get closer to the animals! And would generally really recommend the zoo itself as it was very well planned out with lots of animals in lovely enclosures!
