Through this project, visitors can learn how dung beetles work…..

Why they are essential to both wildlife and farming landscapes, and how their populations are declining due to habitat loss, chemicals, and changes in land use. Interactive displays and interpretation explain the dung beetle life cycle, their incredible strength, and the surprising ways they benefit other animals and the wider environment.

The project also highlights how dung beetles contribute to conservation closer to home, including their role in supporting native species and maintaining healthy grassland ecosystems. By showcasing these hardworking insects up close, the Dung Beetle Project challenges common misconceptions and helps visitors appreciate the importance of even the smallest animals.
