Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World is marking its 35th anniversary with the launch of a new website and brand, designed to make planning a visit easier than ever for families, schools, and animal lovers alike.
After welcoming generations of visitors since opening in 1991, the Shropshire attraction has worked with isev since 2015, a Shropshire-based design and development company, when they built their previous website. Both Hoo Zoo and isev recognised that the current website has remained relevant and served them well over the last 10 years; however, it was time to refresh the design to reflect changes in how guests plan their days out, particularly the increase in mobile browsing and online bookings.
The new design focuses on improving the guest experience from the moment visitors begin planning their day. The new website makes it quicker and easier for guests to find essential information such as opening times, ticket prices, and directions, while clearer navigation and an improved layout help visitors feel more confident about their visit before they arrive.
Alongside the new website, Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World have adopted an updated brand identity, giving a cleaner, more contemporary look while retaining the character and charm visitors know and love. The refreshed branding reflects the zoo's growth and evolution while staying true to its family-friendly roots.
Leon Blair, Founder of isev, said, “It’s been a real privilege to work with Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World over the past 10 years, especially during such an important milestone. The aim was to create a website that feels welcoming, as it’s important not to lose sight of the human experience of visiting Hoo Zoo. Throughout the creation process, we have ensured this is reflected in the website design and branding, while also showcasing the zoo's personality and heart. We wanted visitors to feel excited about their visit from the very first click.”
The Zoo’s new website has been designed to improve the visitor experience and support future growth, supporting seasonal events, school visits, and new attractions, while giving the team greater flexibility to keep information fresh and up to date.
Will Dorrell, Owner of Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World, said, “Reaching 35 years is a huge milestone for us and launching a new website felt like the perfect way to celebrate that journey. Our old website had served us well, but the zoo has changed so much over the years and the new site and refreshed logo better represent who we are today.”
He added, “Everything we do is about creating great experiences for our visitors, and that experience now starts online. The new website helps us tell our story, showcase the animals and attractions we are so proud of, and welcome new families who may be discovering Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World for the first time.”
The new website is now live and forms part of a wider programme of improvements planned throughout Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World’s 35th anniversary year.
