New Playground Opens at Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World

Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World has announced the opening of an exciting new play area, ‘Lemur Play’, designed to encourage children to climb, explore and connect with nature in a fun and immersive environment.

Located on the zoo’s 40-acre site near Telford, the new playground sits alongside the attraction’s popular lemur walkthrough, allowing young guests to play just steps away from a free roaming habitat of ring-tailed lemurs. The new area has been carefully designed to reflect the agility and curiosity of these Madagascan mammals, giving children the chance to experience their world through active play.

The addition strengthens the zoo’s reputation for blending interactive experiences with animal encounters, offering families even more ways to engage with wildlife during their visit. Guests can watch lemurs move freely around their enclosure before heading into the play area to climb, balance and explore a space inspired by the lemur’s behaviour.

Alongside ring-tailed lemurs, Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World is home to several other species of lemur including black and white ruffed lemurs, collared brown lemurs and black lemurs, providing visitors with a broader insight into these charismatic primates.

The launch of ‘Lemur Play’ follows closely behind the unveiling of some of the world’s most advanced animatronic dinosaurs, which debuted at the start of the Easter holidays and have already proven a major draw for visitors. Together, the new additions highlight the zoo’s continued investment in creating a varied and engaging day-out for families.
