If your little ones get lost or separated from you whilst visiting Hoo Zoo, they will know not to panic! We are pleased to be part of the new national lost child safety scheme: Follow the Bear!

How it works:

Follow the Bear (FTB) will be setting up their recognisable Freddie Bear safety trails across our zoo. Children as young as three can follow the directional arrows on Freddie’s tummy to a safety station. At the station, our friendly & highly trained staff can use the child’s unique ID wristbands to identify the child and then call the FTB 24/7 emergency hotline to alert the parents that they are safe and being looked after until reunited – keeping both parties on the line. There’s even a text service in place in the event of being in a location with little to no signal. These wristbands also don’t have any personal information such as the child’s name or phone number on it for security reasons!

A Follow the Bear subscription is only £9.99 for an entire year and works anywhere in the UK! To find out which facilities are taking part, take a look at the (constantly growing!) map of partners or visit www.followthebear.co.uk for more information. Other things to mention:

Follow the Bear is currently running a competition to celebrate their launch! The first 250 people to sign up to the Follow the Bear national lost child safety scheme will be entered into a prize draw to win a fantastic week-long Haven holiday at any UK park for up to six people! T’s and C’s applied.
